Glasgow Rangers winger Jordan Jones was sent off at Ibrox for a bad tackle on Celtic’s Moritz Bauer.
Jordan Jones of Rangers
Jones made a late challenge on Celtic’s Moritz Bauer during the Old Firm derby at Ibrox last weekend.
The Northern Ireland international winger was shown a straight red card, with BBC Sport reporting that he left Ibrox on crutches after the game.
According to The Express, Jones will be out of action for a month, and former Rangers star Ferguson believes that the 24-year-old is lucky not to have seriously hurt himself.
Ferguson has also backed the former Kilmarnock star to learn from his mistake against Celtic, and believes that he will be an asset for Rangers.
Ferguson said about Jones on PLZ Soccer: “Jordan Jones is a lucky boy. It was a shocking tackle, let’s be honest.
“He could have done himself serious, serious damage with that. Hopefully he will learn from that.
“I do think he has got the attributes to be a very good Rangers player, Jordan Jones, there’s no doubt in my mind.”

Mistake
It was a very bad challenge from Jones on Bauer, and one suspects that he will be disappointed with himself.
It was the Old Firm derby, and Rangers were losing at the stage, so perhaps the winger got carried away.
Jones needs to learn from the mistake he made against Celtic and has to stay calm in big matches.
