Rangers legend Barry Ferguson has told Go Radio, as quoted by the Daily Record, that he doesn’t think Lewis Ferguson would shun Celtic.
Ferguson, 21, started his career at Rangers, and grew up supporting the Gers – which is no great surprise given his familial ties.
His father Derek and uncle Barry both played for Rangers and Scotland, and he will now be looking to enjoy a similarly fruitful career.
The midfielder headed to Hamilton Academical and then on to Aberdeen, where he has impressed as one of Scottish football’s top talents.
Unsurprisingly, Ferguson has been linked with a move back to Ibrox; The Scottish Sun reported in May that Steven Gerrard wants Ferguson to re-join Rangers.
No move has materialised, with with Rangers still in the market for a midfielder, an attempt can’t exactly be ruled out.
Now though, his uncle Barry has been asked about the possibility of Ferguson actually moving to Celtic, heading to the other side of the Old Firm.
Celtic’s interest has only been mentioned on social media for now, meaning it’s not exactly reputable, but it has still been discussed.

Barry suggested that his nephew wouldn’t let his Rangers allegiance get in the way of a move to Celtic if he felt it was a good move, and he believes that the Aberdeen ace would be good enough to play for either Celtic or Rangers regularly.
“Lewis is his own guy, he’d make his own decision. I don’t think it would be a factor in Lewis making that decision that his dad and his uncle played for Rangers,” said Ferguson. “He’s got a good head on his shoulders and I don’t think that would worry him. Whether Celtic are interested in him, I don’t know, I know there’s been a lot of talk about Celtic and Rangers.”
“If I’m being honest, I do think he’s good enough to play for both of those teams. Each year he’s improved and this season he’s had a real good start. I wouldn’t hold anything against him, I just want the best for him and for him to have a good career in the game. He’s done it the hard way, he let go by Rangers as a kid. He had that knock, went to Hamilton and worked his way up and got the move to Aberdeen. He’s flourished under Derek McInnes and I think if he keeps his form up that he’s shown, I think Aberdeen will find it hard to hold onto him,” he added.
