Rangers have won three games on the bounce in the Scottish Premiership.

Paul Murray is seen during the William Hill Scottish Cup semi-final match between Celtic and Rangers at Hampden Park on April 23, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Barry Ferguson has seemingly disagreed with Paul Murray that Rangers won’t take any risks in order to catch Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.

As reported by the Scottish Sun, former Gers director Murray was insistent that Dave King won’t spend crazy just to stop their Old Firm rivals from achieving 10-in-a-row.

But speaking to PLZ Soccer’s official YouTube account (24/04/2019), Ferguson understood where Murray was coming from, but honestly stated that the club does need investment and manager Steven Gerrard has a ‘big summer’ ahead of him.

“I get where he’s coming from,” Ferguson told PLZ Soccer. “But, it does need money, it does need investment the Rangers squad. I think this year there have certainly been steps going forward.

“It was a big overhaul of players in the summer. I think he has made some good signings and some signings have not worked. But I think this is a big summer for the manager. He knows that himself and he does need funds.

“I don’t think he’ll get 10’s of millions. But they’ll back him because Dave King has come out in the summer that they’ll financially back Steven Gerrard. If he identifies a player, they’ll try to get him for him.”

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard loooks on from the stand during the Ladbrokes Premier League match between Motherwell and Rangers at Fir Park on April 07, 2019 in Motherwell, Scotland.

Out of every competition Rangers have competed in this season, the Europa League was the one where supporters would have expected their team to struggle in at the most.

But they surpassed expectations in Europe and even performed better in that competition then they did in the Scottish Cup or the Scottish League Cup.

Gerrard, who is in his first year in management, has shown signs that he is capable of lifting silverware at Ibrox, but he has a long way to go.

The ultimate for the Light Blues fans is stopping their rivals from winning 10 titles in a row and in order for them to do that then Gerrard’s squad might need bulking up a little bit more for next season.
