Steven Davis signed a one-year contract with Rangers earlier this summer.

Davis spent the second half of last season at Rangers on loan from Premier League club Southampton after joining the Gers in January 2019.
The 34-year-old midfielder was out of contract at the Saints at the end of last season, and the Northern Ireland international signed a one-year contract with Rangers in May 2019.
Former Rangers midfielder Ferguson played with Davis at Ibrox during the 34-year-old’s first spell at the club, and he believes that the ex-Aston Villa and Fulham star is the Gers’ most important signing of the summer.
Ferguson wrote about Davis in The Daily Record: “After a sticky start to his second spell, it looks as if he has convinced Gerrard to build the team around him and that can only be good news as he is such a class act.
“Anyone who reads this column knows how highly I rate him and I reckon Davo could be the most important signing of the summer in terms of next season’s top flight campaign.”

Davis did not start his loan spell at Rangers strongly, but he became more and more important as the season progressed.
According to WhoScored, the 34-year-old made 10 starts and four substitute appearances in the Scottish Premiership for Rangers during the second half of last season.
The experience and quality of the midfielder will be important for Rangers, as they aim to win the Scottish Premiership title next season.
