Graeme Murty’s Rangers and Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic reportedly want Youssouf Mulumbu of Kilmarnock.

Graeme Murty’s Rangers and Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic have been linked with Youssouf Mulumbu of Kilmarnock in the summer transfer window.
According to a report in The Daily Mail earlier this month, Rangers and Celtic are interested in signing Mulumbu on a free transfer in the summer of 2018.
The 31-year-old former West Bromwich Albion midfielder, who is out of contract at Kilmarnock at the end of the season, is reportedly also on the radar of Aberdeen and Hibernian.
Mulumbu has been one of the best players in the Scottish Premiership so far this season, and the DR Congo international’s performances have been praised by Rangers legend Barry Ferguson, who has picked him as one of the best seven players in the Scottish top flight so far this campaign.

Ferguson wrote in The Daily Record: “I knew all about the Congolese midfielder before he joined Kilmarnock as a free agent in November.
“I played against him when he was at West Brom and you always walked off knowing you’d been in a game.
“He’s strong and technically gifted and although he isn’t the biggest physically, I always walked away thinking, ‘he’s a player’. He has been the driving force to Kilmarnock’s rise under Steve Clarke.”

Quality midfielder
Mulumbu has shown what he is capable of, and the former Norwich City midfielder would be a great signing for Celtic or Rangers, especially on a free transfer.
If Rangers secure the services of the former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, then the Gers’ chances of challenging Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title will increase.
