Barry Ferguson has praised Glasgow Rangers defender Ross McCrorie in the Ibrox side’s most recent match.

After two back to back defeats, Glasgow Rangers returned to winning ways with a victory over Aberdeen on Wednesday. The Gers won by 3-0, and it was a performance which is worthy of high praise.

Despite spending big in the summer, Rangers have performed well below expectation, and are third in the Scottish Premier League table with seven points behind arch-rivals Celtic.

Former Rangers player Barry Ferguson says that the performance from Rangers was nothing short of excellent, and that every single player deserve plaudits for the way they played.

James Tavernier scored twice while Carlos Pena added another to capture a wonderful performance for the Ibrox club.

Ferguson was particularly impressed by the performance of young Rangers defender Ross McCrorie.

The 19-year-old has already put up some eye-catchy performances for the Gers this season. He is considered to be one of the brightest young talents in the country, and Ferguson believes that if he keeps on improving, then Rangers will have a “proper player” on their books.

“I don’t want to pick any one player out but what I will do is give a special word to young Ross McCrorie,” wrote Ferguson for the Daily Record. “It’s early days for this young man but if he continues to progress and show the right attitude then Rangers are going to have a proper player on their hands for the next 10 or 15 years.”
