Barry Ferguson has said on PLZ Soccer that Celtic are the favourites for the Old Firm derby against Rangers at Ibrox this afternoon.

The former Rangers midfielder has also said that James Forrest will be the key player for Celtic in the Scottish Premiership game.

The midfielder has been impressed with the performances of the 28-year-old Scotland international winger for the past few seasons, and believes that he has got better with age.

Ferguson said on PLZ Soccer: “Celtic are the favourites because they are the champions of Scotland.”

Ferguson said about Forrest on PLZ Soccer: “For me, over the last three or four seasons, he has been one of the most consistent performers.

“He just gets better with age, and he is a massive player for Celtic. That game on Sunday Rangers will need to keep him quiet. For me, he is a match-winner, and on his day, he can take anybody to the cleaners.”

Superb footballer

Forrest is one of the best and most creative wingers in the Scottish Premiership, and he has been on top of his game for a number of years.

The 28-year-old has delivered big performances consistently for Celtic, and he can be as good in matches against Rangers as against the lesser teams.

The winger has made 358 appearances in all competitions for the Glasgow giants so far in his career, scoring 78 goals in the process, as stated on Celtic’s official website.

As for Celtic being the favourites, Rangers will fancy their chances given that they are at home and have been in superb form this season.
