Barry Ferguson has praised Celtic defender Christopher Jullien in The Daily Record for his performance against Rangers at Ibrox last weekend.

The former Rangers star was impressed with the display produced by Jullien in Celtic’s 2-0 win against Steven Gerrard’s side in the Old Firm derby.

The former France Under-20 international was a rock at the back for Neil Lennon’s side and kept the Rangers attackers at bay.

The defender was brilliant in the air, made the right tackles and the right interceptions at the right time, and marshalled his defence brilliantly.

Ferguson was impressed with Jullien, and the former Rangers ace has spoken highly of the 26-year-old.

Ferguson wrote in The Daily Record: “There has been a lot said and written critically about Christopher Jullien and Boli Bolingoli but the pair of them were immense.

“Jullien in particular was superb and he dominated in what was an
impressive defensive show from Neil Lennon’s side. He never gave Defoe a sniff and it was the same with Morelos when he came on.”

Growing as a Celtic player

Jullien’s initial performances for Celtic were not exactly great, but the defender has been playing well for the Hoops in recent games.

The Frenchman was immense at the back against Rangers, and such big performances against big teams is only going to endear him to the Celtic fans.
