Morelos has struggled in Rangers’ opening two fixtures.

Rangers legend Barry Ferguson has claimed in his Daily Record column that he has not been impressed with Alfredo Morelos’ body language at this early stage of the season.
The 22-year-old has lead the line for Rangers in both Europa League first qualifying rounds, as Steven Gerrard’s side earned a 2-0 aggregate win over Macedonian outfit FK Shkupi.
However, he failed to find the back of the net despite having multiple chances and it has since seen Gerrard come out in the press to criticise his forwards and urge them to be more clinical when going forward.
Now, Ferguson has laid into the Colombian forward for looking sluggish and sulking during the first two matches of the season, and urged the former HJK Helsinki striker to be more clinical or find himself on the sidelines.
“I’m not convinced by his body language, he sulks too easily,” Ferguson said. “Alfredo seems to go in a bit of a mood when a pass is overhit or doesn’t quite come his way, a show of public annoyance that’s not likely to endear him to teammates.
“The other night? He was lacklustre and although isolated at times in attack he still didn’t work hard enough, almost as if the transfer talk from the second half of the season is still affecting him.
“The former HJK Helsinki kid must find greater consistency and soon, or his place in the team will be gone under his no-nonsense boss.”

Last season, Morelos impressed in a Rangers shirt with 18 goals in all competitions, but was guilty of missing plenty of chances and failed to score in a single Old Firm clash despite golden chances.
With new signing Umar Sadiq now available for next week’s second round of qualifying against NS Osijek, Morelos has a fight on his hands to start for the Gers – especially after his first two outings.
