Filip Helander of Rangers
Barry Ferguson has spoken highly of Rangers central defender Filip Helander in The Daily Record.
The former Rangers star was impressed with the performance of Helander during Steven Gerrard’s side’s 1-0 win against Feyenoord at Ibrox in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
The 26-year-old Sweden international was superb at the back and gave a very good account of himself at the heart of the Rangers defence.
Ferguson was impressed with the performance of Helander for Rangers, and the former Ibrox star has raved about him.
Ferguson wrote in The Daily Record: “My final mention goes to Filip Helander. He hasn’t featured much since coming in this summer but the huge defender impressed me. This was a big test for him and he was excellent.”

Important player for Rangers
Helander joined Rangers from Italian club Bologna in the summer transfer window for a fee reported by The Scottish Sun to be worth £3.5 million.
The 26-year-old arrived at Ibrox with a strong reputation, but the Swede has yet to establish himself in the Rangers starting lineup.
According to WhoScored, the defender has made one appearance in the Scottish Premiership and one in the Europa League for Rangers so far this season.
With the Gers aiming to win the Scottish Premiership title this season and progress to the knockout stage of the Europa League, Helander will be an important player for the Gers.
