Rangers have made a decent start to the season, but there are surely still some concerns for Steven Gerrard.
Rangers legend Barry Ferguson highlighted two major worries for Steven Gerrard, when speaking exclusively to the Daily Record today.
The Gers currently sit in second spot in the Scottish Premiership table, one point adrift of league leaders Celtic, but if they win their next three games, they are guaranteed to head into the winter break at the top of the pile.
Gerrard has totally transformed Rangers, since taking over at Ibrox in the summer, but it will be a real concern for him that his team are not making the most of their impressive displays.
Ferguson spoke exclusively to the Daily Record, and shared how there are two major factors that will be a real concern for Gerrard:
“Rangers can’t improve much on their performance against Hibs but they missed that killer instinct in front of goal and it’s a bit worrying that it’s been happening in a few games now. You need a midfielder scoring up to a dozen goals a season or a central defender netting five or six. Scott Arfield will come up with a few and it’s a worry that he went off injured at Easter Road.”
Rangers’ key goalscoring threat is Alfredo Morelos, but there is obviously too much pressure on the Colombian’s shoulders to score regularly.
One player who has chipped in is Scott Anfield, and Gerrard will be praying that he is fit to play the final three games before the winter break.
If Rangers can rack up nine points from their next three matches, they will be in a great position from which to win their first top flight title since 2011.
