Rangers will return to action this weekend when they take on Old Firm rivals Celtic. The Gers will lock horns with the Bhoys away from home at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon.

The Gers will head into the match against Celtic on the back of a 6-0 victory over Hamilton Academical at Ibrox in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup.

Rangers have won their last two competitive fixtures and will fancy their chances of at least picking up a point against Brendan Rodgers’s team.

Celtic, though, are strong favourites for the match, and it will be a massive surprise if they fail to win.

The Hoops have the best and strongest squad in the Scottish Premiership and are also unbeaten in the league so far.

It will be hard for Rangers to win against the Hoops, but Barry Ferguson has an idea how they can claim all three points.

Former Rangers midfielder Ferguson has suggested that the Ibrox outfit should play like St. Mirren did last weekend.

St. Mirren forced Celtic to come from behind to win the Scottish Premiership game 4-1 at Celtic Park.

“The game plan should be simple enough,” Ferguson wrote in The Daily Record. “Stick a sock in the mouth of Scott Brown, Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair.

“Get up against them and don’t give them a minute’s peace. Prove that you can neutralise their three best players and then see how Celtic handle it.

“Watch what St Mirren did to them at the weekend and try to do the same things. The Celtic fans reacted badly to that at the weekend and they’ll turn up on Sunday expecting an absolute rout. The longer you frustrate them, the better your chances.”
