Scottish Premiership hopefuls Rangers would love to sign Ryan Kent again from Premier League runners-up Liverpool.

Rangers legend Barry Ferguson believes Steven Gerrard would have to cash in on star man Alfredo Morelos in order to fund a permanent deal for Liverpool winger Ryan Kent, speaking to PLZ Soccer.
It is no secret that Rangers would love to bring Kent back to Ibrox after a superb loan spell in the 2018/19 season. The Englishman became a key part of Gerrard’s squad thanks to his rapid pace and ability to beat opposition full-backs at will, winning the SPFA Young Player of the Year award as a result.
But Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp made it clear after a 3-0 pre-season defeat to Napoli that the Premier League runners-up had no interest in letting Kent leave Anfield on yet another temporary deal (BBC).
So Rangers’ position is clear. Either they stump up a club-record fee for the 22-year-old or he will be spending next season plying his trade elsewhere.
And former club captain Ferguson isn’t exactly holding his breath, predicting that Rangers will only be able to sign Kent if they part with one of their star men.
“The price being banded about is £10m and I really don’t think Rangers can afford that if I’m being honest. They would need to maybe get rid of a Morelos to get that sort of money in,” he said.

“So Rangers will be really disappointed because, for me, last year he was the difference for Rangers in a lot of the big games. I was really impressed with him every time I seen him, especially in the final third he can come up with a bit of magic.
“But that one looks as if it’s going to be dead unless Rangers come up with money.”
Selling Morelos to fund a deal for Kent seems rather counter-productive. With 29 goals last season, the firebrand Colombian is perhaps Rangers’ best hope of ending Celtic’s near decade-long dominance of the Scottish game next season.
And, in truth, Rangers haven’t done too badly over the summer without Kent. The electric Sheyi Ojo, who has arrived in another loan deal from Liverpool, looks ready to step up to the plate and fill the void left by his fellow Anfield youngster.
