Rangers will be looking to bounce back from their Old Firm defeat after the international break.

Barry Ferguson has defended Rangers manager Steven Gerrard for his team selection and tactics for the Old Firm derby by stating that he’s ‘not a stupid guy’.
But the former Scottish Premiership midfielder did admit that he was left ‘surprised’ by Gerrard’s decision not to start with a winger and to leave Alfredo Morelos on the bench.
From an attacking sense, Rangers struggled to make an impact as Celtic scored on either side of the break, with Sheyi Ojo coming on at half-time, as Morelos and Jordan Jones, who was later sent off, also coming onto the pitch during the second period.
Speaking to PLZ Soccer’s YouTube account (02/09/2019), Ferguson shared his thoughts on Gerrard’s decision-making and tactics during the Old Firm derby defeat.
“It’s one of them, I thought he would have played with at least one wide guy and went with Morelos up front,” Ferguson told PLZ Soccer. “But he’s not a stupid guy. He’s intelligent enough to go away and have a look at the game.

“You can go on about formations and personnel. At the end of the day, Celtic were the better team. Celtic deserved to win. I don’t think they can argue about that.
“But as I said, I was surprised by some of his selections. That’s why you are paid the big bucks to go and make you big decisions.”
The international break has now kicked in and Rangers do have a number of their players going out to represent their countries in these coming weeks.
Upon their return, they will be hoping to bounce back from that Celtic defeat, as not only will they be playing Scottish Premiership matches, but the Europa League games kick in also.
