Ferguson was stripped of the Rangers captaincy under Le Guen.

Writing in his column for the Daily Record, former Rangers captain Barry Ferguson compared current Ibrox boss Mark Warburton with one he worked under in Paul Le Guen.
Warburton has led Rangers to victory in just four of their first 10 fixtures this season, raising doubts among some sections of the Gers support.

And the Englishman’s tally is identical to that of Le Guen, who lasted just half a season in charge at Ibrox – the shortest reign of any Rangers boss at the time.
Ferguson, who had his captaincy removed by the Frenchman, feels Le Guen ‘failed to grasp’ the demands of managing an Old Firm club. However, the 38-year-old does not believe this to be the case with Warburton.
“Now I must make it clear I wouldn’t put Warburton in that bracket (as Le Guen),” Ferguson writes.
“Some people might take his comments yesterday – when he wondered what is so shocking about the team’s start to the league campaign – as not caring or grasping the demands of an Old Firm club, like Le Guen did to my frustration.

“But I genuinely don’t think Warburton is taking this lightly and privately he’ll be making it abundantly clear to the players that this is not good enough.
“There is one reason why I’m convinced he know understands a lot more about Rangers than Le Guen – and that’s his assistant manager.
“Davie Weir was a great player for Rangers, a great captain and he knows the club inside out and privately he and senior players like Kenny Miller will be leaving the rest in no doubt that the current situation is simply not acceptable.”
Ferguson played alongside Weir for two seasons at Rangers, winning the Premiership title in his final season before joining Birmingham City in July 2009.

Weir eventually hung up his boots two-and-a-half-years later at the age of 41 and moved into coaching, working alongside Warburton at Brentford.
The pair reunited at Ibrox 16 months ago, and won both the Scottish Championship and Petrofac Cup in their first season at the helm.
