Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers reportedly want to bring back Steven Davis from Southampton.

Rangers are interested in signing former Ibrox midfielder Davis from Southampton, according to The Belfast Telegraph.
It has been reported that the Ibrox club are set to make a loan move for the 33-year-old Northern Ireland international midfielder in the January transfer window.
The former Fulham and Aston Villa star was on the books of Rangers from 2008 until 2012.
Former Rangers midfielder Ferguson has backed the Gers’ reported plan to bring back Davis – who earns £60,000 per week as salary, according to spotrac.com.
Ferguson wrote about Davis in The Daily Record: “A guy of his calibre has everything a modern midfielder needs.
“He’s fit, he gets about the pitch, he scores goals and moves the ball at pace to make a team tick.”
“Rangers don’t lack quality in the middle of the park but he would be a step up on the players already there,” added Ferguson.
“He would give the squad a boost and the support a lift at the same time. He’s capable of taking Rangers to the next level.”

Good signing for Rangers?
Davis is 33 years of age, and although there is no doubt on the quality of the Southampton midfielder, he is past his prime.
A loan move for the second half of the season would not be a bad idea, but Rangers should think twice before signing the midfielder on a permanent basis thereafter.
Davis has played just six minutes in the Premier League so far this season and made 17 starts in the league for Southampton during the 2017-18 campaign, according to WhoScored.
