Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard signed Umar Sadiq on loan in the summer transfer window.
Rangers striker Sadiq Umar
Former Ibrox midfielder Barry Ferguson has criticised Rangers striker Umar Sadiq in The Daily Record.
Ferguson, who had two separate spells at Rangers and is an Ibrox legend, does not think that Sadiq will make an impact at Ibrox.
Looking ahead to Rangers’ Scottish League Cup semi-final tie against Aberdeen this weekend, Ferguson wrote in The Daily Record: “Alfredo Morelos is suspended and Kyle Lafferty is cup-tied and that leaves Umar Sadiq as the only recognised striker in the squad.
“However, the on-loan Roma frontman has done little to suggest he will make an impact at Ibrox. Steven could introduce him as a wild card but I reckon he’ll go with the tried and trusted.”

Rangers struggles
Sadiq joined Rangers on loan from Italian giants Roma in the summer transfer window and was expected to a huge hit at Ibrox.
The Nigeria Under-23 international striker, though, has struggled to play regularly for Steven Gerrard’s side so far this season.
The 21-year-old has made just one appearance in the Scottish Premiership and has played only once in the Scottish League Cup for Rangers so far this campaign, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
According to The Scottish Sun, Roma paid Spezia £2 million in transfer fees in 2016 in order to to secure the services of the Nigeria Under-23 international striker.
Rangers are going strong in the Scottish Premiership and are also aiming to progress to the knockout stages of the Europa League this season.
