Graeme Murty’s Glasgow Rangers have brought Jamie Murphy on loan to Ibrox from Brighton and Hove Albion in the January transfer window.

Barry Ferguson has suggested in The Daily Record that Jamie Murphy is a good signing for Rangers.
Rangers have signed Murphy from Brighton and Hove Albion in the January transfer window.
The Ibrox club have secured the services of the 28-year-old winger on loan from Premier League club Brighton until the end of the season.
The Gers have announced on their official website that the deal will become permanent in the summer of 2018 for a guaranteed fixed fee.

Rangers have also stated that they were willing to sign the former Scotland Under-21 international winger on a long-term deal in the January transfer window, but it was Brighton – who are struggling for survival in the Premier League at the moment and are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season – who wanted to wait until the summer before making the switch permanent.
Former Rangers midfielder Ferguson, who had two different spells at Ibrox, has backed the Gers’ decision to sign Murphy.

Ferguson wrote in The Daily Record: “Moving for Murphy is another step in the right direction.”
“I’ve always liked Murphy as a player. He’s the type of attacker who makes things happen and he’ll relish the chance of exciting the Rangers supporters,” Ferguson added.
Former Rangers manager Stuart McCall worked with Murphy at Motherwell and has backed him to be a success at Ibrox, telling The Daily Record: “With the experience he’s had it’s perfect for him, he couldn’t have plotted a better career path to this point. Jamie could give Rangers a real boost.”
