Barry Ferguson believes that Celtic have left it late for a number of years to complete their signings.

Barry Ferguson has criticised Celtic on PLZ Soccer for leaving it late to complete their signings.

The former Rangers midfielder believes that it is not just this summer that Celtic under manager Neil Lennon have not been able to complete their signings early in the summer transfer window.

Ferguson said on PLZ Soccer: “I don’t get it. Celtic have been like that for a number of years, leaving things at the last minute.”

Summer transfer business

Celtic have been quite busy in the summer transfer window and have made a number of signings.

The Scottish Premiership giants have secured the services of Christopher Jullien, Luca Connell, Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo, Hatem Abd Elhamed, England Tobi Oluwayemi, Leo Hjelde and Liam Burt.

Celtic are still active this summer, with The Daily Record claiming that Omar Elabdellaoui, Birger Meling and Greg Taylor are on the radar of the Hoops.

While the Hoops are doing well in the domestic arena in Scotland, they have failed to progress to the group stage of the Champions League and will now have to try to advance to the group stage of the Europa League for the 2019-20 campaign.
