Barry Ferguson has suggested on PLZ Soccer that Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard needs to add consistency to his game.

The former Rangers midfielder believes that if Edouard becomes more consistent, then the 21-year-old will become a top striker.

Ferguson has also said that the former France Under-21 international striker will be an important player for Celtic manager Neil Lennon this season.

Ferguson said about Edouard on PLZ Soccer: “When you watch him, you see bits and flashes of what he can do in games.

“If he can get a level of consistency, I think he could become a top striker, there’s no doubt in my mind about that. He will be massive to Lenny this season.”

Edouard is one of the best strikers in the Scottish Premiership and is a key figure for Celtic.

The 21-year-old is regular for the Hoops and will be massive for the Glasgow giants in their quest to win the domestic treble again this season.

The former Paris Saint-Germain prospect has scored two goals in two Scottish Premiership appearances, one in one Europa League qualifier, and two in five Champions League qualifiers for the Hoops so far this season, according to WhoScored.

According to Transfermarkt.co.uk, Edouard scored 15 goals and provided six assists in the Scottish Premiership for Celtic last season.
