Rangers are on a five-game winning run heading into the Old Firm fixture on Sunday.

Barry Ferguson has stated that it would be ‘pointless’ if Rangers spent money on squad players during the summer because he feels they need personnel who can come straight into the starting XI.
Steven Gerrard has gone trophyless in his first season in charge at Ibrox and he will be hoping to change that next season and win the Scottish Premiership.
The transfer business the Light Blues do, both in terms of incomings and outcomings, can have a big bearing on whether they stop Celtic’s dominance or not.
Speaking to PLZ Soccer’s official YoutTube account (08/05/2019), former Gers man Ferguson had a stern warning for Gerrard and the transfer business they will do in the summer.
“I don’t think he needs squad players, I think he needs players that are going to come straight into his starting XI,” Ferguson told PLZ Soccer. “I would say three or four players to come straight into that starting XI.
“I think it’s pointless going and spending money on squad players. The big overhaul happened last summer. They are strong and they certainly need to get stronger if they have any hopes of getting the league title back from Celtic.”

It remains to be seen how many players Gerrard adds to his squad in the summer, but he will be hoping those players will add consistency to the side.
That is one area Rangers have struggled in since the turn of the year and if they can rectify that area of their game then they’ll be a big threat next term.
Not only that, they have a number of loan players at the club and keeping them at Ibrox next season will also be on the minds of Gerrard and the supporters.
