Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has brought former Gers forward Kyle Lafferty back to Ibrox this summer.
Kyle Lafferty of Rangers
Rangers have recruited Lafferty from Scottish Premiership rivals Hearts in the summer transfer window for a fee reported by The Glasgow Evening Times to be worth £500,000.
This will be the Northern Ireland international forward’s second spell at Rangers, with the 30-year-old having been on the books of Rangers from 2008 until 2012.
Former Rangers midfielder Ferguson, who had two separate spells at Ibrox, has given his take on the Gers’ decision to bring back Lafferty.
Ferguson wrote in The Daily Record: “The capture of Kyle Lafferty is also a welcome addition because he knows the demands and expectations that come from playing with Rangers after spending four years with the club.
“He lost his way after leaving the club with loan spells abroad and a stint at Norwich. But I refuse to label him lucky for being given a second chance at Rangers – you make your own good fortune.
“He was a good fit for Hearts but they also helped him rediscover his mojo and he’s proved, time and again, he’s a big-time player.
“Lafferty will respond to the challenge. He’ll be looking to hit the ground running by scoring a goal – and I wouldn’t rule it out tomorrow at Fir Park.”

Good signing for Rangers
Lafferty is not a prolific goalscorer, but what the forward does bring to Steven Gerrard’s Rangers team is experience.
The Northern Ireland international also has the habit to pop up with important goals in big matches, as he did for Hearts against Celtic in the Scottish Premiership recently.
With Alfredo Morelos and Umar Sadiq also in the squad, Rangers do have a very strong and potent attacking unit.
