Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has been a key player for Steven Gerrard this season.

Former Rangers midfielder Barry Ferguson has admitted that he ‘wasn’t too sure’ about Alfredo Morelos when he first joined the club.
The 22-year-old, who has become a firm fan favourite, moved to Ibrox during the summer of 2017 when he made the switch from HJK Helsinki in Finland.
Since then, he has showcased his talents on the pitch from his ability to score a variety of goals as well as being a hot head when he has his patience tested by the opposition.
Speaking to SPFL Matters on Sky Sports Football (22/02/2019 at 7:20 pm), Ferguson offered his thoughts on Morelos as he urged him not to change despite being seen as a ‘liability’ for the number of times he has been sent off this season.
“They rely far too much on Morelos for me,” Ferguson told Sky Sports Football. “I think he is key to them this season. When he first came in, I wasn’t too sure about him. But the guy has grown on me this season. He has got it all in the locker.
“He’s putting fear into centre-backs. When they see him in the team sheet, they know they are in the game because he is a handful. People go on about, ‘he’s a liability’ by getting sent off. Don’t take any of that away from him. If you take any of that out, he’s not the same player.”

Morelos was absent for Steven Gerrard’s side as they recorded an emphatic win at Hamilton on Sunday afternoon, with the highly-rated youngster netting four goals against Kilmarnock in the Scottish Cup last time out.
Over the course of the season, he has played 39 games in all competitions, scoring an impressive 27 goals and supplying 10 assists along the way [transfermarkt].
It is highly unlikely that Rangers will catch Celtic in the race for the Scottish Premiership title because Brendan Rodgers team have an eight-point lead on their rivals.
But they still have a chance of lifting some silverware during this campaign with the Scottish Cup still up for grabs and Gerrard will be well aware that if he can keep his star man on the field then it will increase his side’s chances of lifting a trophy.
