New Leeds signing Barry Douglas spoke exclusively to LUTV after completing his switch from Wolves to Elland Road, and shared how the exciting project currently being pioneered by Marcelo Bielsa was a major reason why he chose to join the Whites.

Douglas, 26, joined Leeds from Wolves last week, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £3 million, and many fans and pundits feel that the west Yorkshire outfit have secured themselves an absolute bargain.

The left-back was an incredibly consistent performer for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side in the Championship last season, and Bielsa will be hoping that he can replicate that form this time around.

The Scotland international has experience of being part of a team that managed to earn promotion from the Championship to the Premier League, and that could prove to be invaluable for Leeds this season.

Douglas spoke exclusively to LUTV after joining Bielsa’s revolution at Elland Road, and opened up on why he chose to join Leeds from Wolves:

“Wolves obviously took the decision to let me know that I wasn’t going to be part of their plans which was a bit hard to take at first but life goes on. “And then I found out about the interest from Leeds and the project here is similar to what was going on last year at Wolves. It’s very exciting so that’s what made the decision for me to come here.”

Leeds’ season kicks off on Sunday the 5th of August at home to Stoke City, and Douglas will be hoping to endear himself to the Elland Road faithful immediately.
