Adam Forshaw finally returned to first-team action for Leeds on Tuesday after what has been a long and emotional journey back from injury.
After almost two years out, Forshaw finally played for Marcelo Bielsa’s side this week in a 3-2 win against Guiseley, and after the game you could see how much it meant to him.
Forshaw commented after the match how much it meant that his son could finally watch him playing first-team football as he’d have been too young to remember his performances prior to his injury, and these comments sparked a reaction from former United teammate Barry Douglas.
If anyone knows how Forshaw has been feeling it’s Douglas.
The left-back has himself had a fair share of injury problems in recent years, with the Scot’s time at Leeds being heavily affected by these fitness issues.
Luckily, it seems as though Forshaw’s worries may now be behind him, and we can only hope that he’s able to get back playing competitive football with the Whites in the very near future.
Fingers crossed Forshaw will be able to play Premier League football in front of his son this season.
