Leeds United left-back Barry Douglas has responded to Ian Poveda’s post on Twitter.
Poveda has given his take on making his competitive debut for Leeds in their Championship game against Cardiff City away from home at the Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The 20-year-old, who can operate as a winger or as an attacking midfielder, came on as a substitute in the 77th minute, as Marcelo Bielsa’s side suffered a 2-0 defeat.
According to WhoScored, the youngster had a pass accuracy of 72.7%, took 16 touches, made one tackle, and put in one cross.
Poveda moved to Leeds from Premier League club Manchester City in the January transfer window.
Douglas, who can also operate as a left wing-back, has sent an encouraging message to the England Under-20 international on Twitter.
Next season will be big
It is very unlikely that Poveda will make a huge impact at Leeds in the final games of the season, but the 2020-21 campaign will be massive for the youngster, especially if the Whites clinch promotion to the Premier League.
