The Leeds United defender has been an important player for Marcelo Bielsa this season.

Leeds ace Barry Douglas took to Twitter today, confirming that he will out for the rest fo the season, after rupturing his knee ligaments against Millwall on Saturday.

The 29-year-old joined the Whites from Wolves in the summer of 2018, for a fee believed to be worth somewhere in the region of £3 million, and he has gone on to be a real hit at Elland Road, making 27 appearances in all competitions for Marcelo Bielsa’s men.

Leeds currently sit in second spot in the Championship table, five points adrift of league leaders Norwich City, but perhaps more importantly, two in front of this placed Sheffield United.

And Douglas has played a key role for the west Yorkshire outfit throughout their campaign this far, so losing him for a sustained period of time will undoubtedly be a major blow for them.
