Leeds United defender Barry Douglas has told the Yorkshire Evening Post that being left out of the team can be frustrating.
The Scot was signed from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2018, having starred in their promotion season with five goals and 14 assists.
Douglas chipped in with five assists during the 2018-19 campaign, but then endured a difficult season last term.
Douglas managed just 15 Championship appearances last season, with Stuart Dallas now seemingly Leeds’ first-choice left back.
That has resulted in speculation over Douglas and his future at Elland Road, especially with Leeds keen on Liverpool left back Yasser Larouci according to Goal.
The Daily Mail reported last weekend that Celtic have held talks with Leeds about a deal for Douglas, with Neil Lennon keen to bring the 30-year-old to Glasgow.
Douglas would be seen as competition for Greg Taylor at Parkhead, but he has now admitted his frustration at being on the sidelines at Leeds.

That suggests that Douglas would want a starting role, and he actually sounds determined to force his way into the Leeds side this season anyway, meaning Celtic’s hopes may be dented.
“The manager makes the decisions at the end of the day,” said Douglas. “I need to live by that. It can be frustrating at times but it’s a team game and it’s not all about me. I just need to be ready when I get the opportunity and I think I showed I was ready [last season] and helped the team when I could.”
“It was nice to contribute but ultimately I want to play more like every player, so it’s going to be challenging ahead for everyone to be on their toes and be at their best,” he added.
