Leeds United full-back Barry Douglas was terrific for the Whites at the weekend.

It did not even seem possible that Leeds United could land Barry Douglas this summer – but somehow the Whites managed to pull it off.

Douglas has been an ever present in Leeds’ XI since joining, filling their problem position at left-back.

The only predictable part of his transfer to Leeds is that he has been terrific since joining, and at the weekend against Norwich City he may have delivered his best performance yet.

Douglas did not leave the pitch at Carrow Road boasting of scoring a goal or providing an assist, instead he walked off with a clean sheet, for the first time on Leeds’ travels this season.

SWANSEA, WALES - AUGUST 21:

He delivered an impressive all round performance, touching the ball more times than any other player on the pitch.

Statistics via Whoscored.com show Douglas made 116 touches, more than any player at Carrow Road.

No other Leeds player topped 100 touches, while Norwich’s left-back Jamal Lewis made only 48 by comparison.

Douglas also recorded five tackles, the highest in the Leeds team. His eight clearances also topped all of his defensive teammates.

The summer signing created a goalscoring chance too, showing the more eye catching side of his game.

On another day he will have more production from an attacking sense. So far though, this may have been his best performance yet.
