Forestieri could return for the Owls against Burton Albion this evening.
It has been an eventful few days at Sheffield Wednesday.
Having begun the season with a bang, beating Aston Villa 1-0 on the opening day of the campaign, their matchweek 2 plans were jeopardised by the refusal of match-winner Fernando Forestieri to travel with the squad to Norwich City.

It followed reports of interest from Derby County and Newcastle United, although the Italian issued an apology on social media two days later and once again in an official statement earlier on Tuesday, in which he reiterated his desire to remain at Hillsborough.
Chairman Dejphon Chansiri then delivered a message of his own, calling on Owls fans to forgive last season’s top scorer and draw a line under the situation.

For the most part, they appear to have done just that, although question marks remain over the stance of Forestieri’s colleagues and teammates.
However, if they are all like Barry Bannan then there should not be problem, with the midfielder tweeting his delight at the 26-year-old’s return to contention for tonight’s trip to Burton Albion.

Alongside a picture of the smiling pair, Bannan wrote: “We got our Fessi back”
The pair played crucial roles in Wednesday’s venture to last season’s play-off final and Carlos Carvalhal’s side, who added Burnley midfielder David Jones to an already strong squad earlier today, are keen to go one better this time around.
