Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday will face each other in the Championship this afternoon.

Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Barry Bannan has taken to social networking site Twitter to send a message ahead of this afternoon’s match against Aston Villa.
Wednesday will take on Villa away from home at Villa Park in the Championship in less than an hour’s time.
It will be a special match for Bannan, who was on the books of Villa from 2004 until 2013.

The Scotland international struggled to make an impact during his time at Villa Park, but he has established himself as an important player for Wednesday.
The 27-year-old midfielder was a key figure in the Owls’ top-six finish in each of the past two seasons in the Championship.
Ahead of this afternoon’s match against Villa, Bannan has taken to Twitter to state that he will enjoy the trip to Villa Park.

Meanwhile, West Ham United-owned Villa winger Robert Snodgrass has outlined the importance of this afternoon’s Championship match against Wednesday at Villa Park.
“I think every game is, right at this moment anyway,” Snodgrass told The Express & Star when asked if the game was something of a six-pointer.
