Barry Bannan has poured cold waters on speculations linking him with a move away from Hillsborough, stating he is enjoying his time here at the Championship club.

Recently, the former Aston Villa player has been linked with a move to Premier League club Burnley, but Bannan seems not keen to move elsewhere.

The 27-year-old says that he “loves this club,” and wants to play in the Premier League again with them.

Bannan has thanked his manager, his teammates, and the fans for being supportive of him, and says that he has no strong reason to leave the club at this moment.

He appreciates the interest from other clubs in him, but despite the speculation, he insists he is happy at Hillsborough.

“It is the happiest I’ve been in football. There is no reason for me to move at the minute. Obviously I want to play in the Premier League again but I want to be playing there with this club,” said Bannan, as quoted by The Star.

“I don’t see any point in me moving. I’m enjoying myself here and I have two years left on my contract. “It is nice to be getting linked with other clubs as it shows you are playing well.

“It is a good thing but I’m happy where I am. “I love this club. The club have been brilliant with me since day one and I feel as if I owe the club a lot.”

“Things can change quickly in football but I am happy where I am and I want to get this team to the Premier League.”

The Scotland midfielder played a huge role in taking Wednesday to back-to-back play-offs. He has been a key player for the side, a midfield dynamo, and appeared 46 times last term as the Owls just fell short of promotion.

Surely, the Owls fans will be happy with Bannan’s ambition and commitment.
