Bannan made his 150th appearance for Sheffield Wednesday at Millwall on Tuesday.
Barry Bannan says it’s “an honour” to have player for and captained Sheffield Wednesday after making his 150th appearance for the club in Tuesday’s draw at Millwall.
Bannan moved to Wednesday on a free transfer from Crystal Palace in August 2015, and has scored or assisted 25 goals since then.
His consistent form led the Owls to offer him a new three-year contract earlier this season, which he duly accepted.
Posting on Twitter this morning [Wednesday], the 29-year-old said:
Sheffield Wednesday maintained their unbeaten start to Steve Bruce’s reign at the Den, where the Owls registered their second successive 0-0 scoreline and climbed a place to 15th in the Championship.
Wednesday have now failed to concede in any of Bruce’s three games in charge, but have only scored once in that time.

The 58-year-old has previously spoke highly of Bannan whilst managing at other clubs.
