Obviously, Sheffield Wednesday fans were very happy to hear the news that their star player has signed on to remain at the club until the summer of 2020.

But it is not only the fans who were pleased to hear of his contract renewal – his team-mates were fairly pleased as well.

Sheffield Wednesday playmaker Barry Bannan had this to say on twitter earlier today:

The Italian-Argentine has become a key player for Wednesday since making a move from Watford in 2015. He has scored 21 goals in 61 appearances for the club since arriving and was the club’s player of the year last season.

He has often been linked with a move away from the club and courted a move to Derby County in the summer but is now clearly committed to bringing the best to his Sheffield Wednesday career.
