Glasgow Rangers could only secure a disappointing draw against the bottom side in the Scottish Premiership.

Rangers winger Barrie McKay has admitted to the club’s official website that the Gers’ performance, as well as his own, in the disappointing draw with Ross County was sloppy.

Mark Warburton’s men had the opportunity to move back into second place going into the international break, and appeared destined to achieve just that when Clint Hill gave them an eighth minute lead.

However, Andrew Davies bagged the equaliser just before the half-hour mark. And after McKay – who replaced Kenny Miller with 25 minutes to go – was unable to help the team break their opponents down, he conceded that it was a hugely disappointing afternoon.

“The boys in the dressing room have been saying that wasn’t us out there today, it was a sloppy performance all round. It’s up to us to make that right now,” he told the club’s official website.

“We’re definitely disappointed as a team, especially after the first-half because we had a lot of chances on the counter and when you have those chances you need to take them.

“I didn’t exactly make the impact I wanted, I created a chance for Tav but there were other times when I was perhaps a bit sloppy and maybe didn’t make the right decision,” he added.

As well as having a long time to dwell on the inability to beat Ross County, Warburton will be left frustrated due to the Light Blues’ inconsistency.

They are yet to win three league games in a row, and face Aberdeen and Hearts twice in their next five fixtures, so will need to improve dramatically if they hope to start putting a run of several wins together and begin to pull away from the cluster of sides hoping to establish themselves as Celtic’s nearest challengers.
