Did Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers make a mistake in letting Liam Kelly leave?

Barrie McKay has praised former Rangers team-mate Liam Kelly on Twitter.
Kelly, who left Rangers to join Livingston in the summer, posted a brilliant performance in Sunday’s 0-0 draw with Celtic.
The 22-year-old produced a flurry of excellent saves, but kept the best for last by denying Tom Rogic.
Fans of the Ibrox club raved about their former goalkeeper on social media afterwards, and McKay, who came through the Gers’ academy with Kelly, has reacted to his old mate’s display:
It’s natural for some Rangers fans to question whether Steven Gerrard was right to offload him.
But you have to approach it from Kelly’s perspective and ask whether he should’ve stayed on the blue half of Glasgow – and the answer is no.
Gerrard had already signed Allan McGregor to compete with Wes Foderingham, while Jak Alnwick was still with the Blues at the time too.
First-team football would’ve been nigh-on impossible for Kelly and few can blame Gerrard for standing in his way and letting him leave.
