Glasgow Rangers have failed to win either of their last two matches against Hearts or Ross County.
Barrie McKay has told the Sunday Post that he has not received the ball enough at Glasgow Rangers in recent matches.
Rangers have failed to win either of their last two games, against Hearts or Ross County, with the pressure building on Mark Warburton’s side.
Rangers first lost 4-1 to Hearts, before drawing 1-1 with Ross County earlier this week.
And McKay may have given away why Rangers have failed to impress in either of these matches.
The 22-year-old says that he has not been receiving enough of the ball as he would normally like.
“Probably on Wednesday against Hearts and at the weekend I wasn’t as influential as what I would have liked to be but before that I was doing well and getting a lot more of the ball,” he said.
“In the past couple of games I maybe haven’t got the ball as much to be able to affect the game.”
For McKay to make such an admission is a worry for Rangers, as the youngster is normally one of their major attacking threats.
McKay has caught the eye this season, with a series of excellent performances, and has already been linked with a move away from Ibrox.
Put simply, if Rangers are not getting the ball into McKay regularly, they are not at their most threatening.
Rangers’ poor form has led to questions being asked of manager Mark Warburton, and McKay will be hoping for a less frustrating afternoon when he is next in action.
The wide-man is expected to start for the Light Blues when they take on Morton in the Scottish Cup this weekend.
