Former Glasgow Rangers winger Barrie McKay has left Ibrox to join Championship side Nottingham Forest.
Barrie McKay has told Nottingham Forest’s official website that he thought the Rangers fans he has left behind were brilliant, and has heard similarly positive things about the supporters of the Championship side.
McKay left the Scottish Premiership side for the City Ground in a deal that saw him sign a four-year deal with Mark Warburton’s men, according to the club’s official website.

And after outlining what the club’s supporters can expect from him, he disclosed his abiding feeling regarding the Gers fans before commenting on what he has heard about the Forest faithful.
“I like to create chances for my teammates but I also want to add more goals to my game. I’m a winger who will come inside, create opportunities and help link up the play. I can’t wait to get started and to show the fans what I’m made of,” he told the club’s official website.
“The supporters at Ibrox were brilliant and I’ve heard that the fans here are just the same. If we’ve got the backing of the fans then it will spur us on a little bit more and give us more confidence.”
McKay will be hoping that the supporters live up to his early assessment as, as a winger, his chances of success in the Championship could well depend on his levels of confidence.
Warburton will know that the youngster has the potential and the talent to potentially change games, but he will also be aware that, like most wide-men, he could also leave the supporters frustrated.
So having the supporters remain behind him could be crucial to McKay maintaining the levels of confidence that may enable him to justify exactly why Warburton wanted to be reunited with him in the first place.
