Antonio Barragan is starting to come into his own at Middlesbrough following his move to the Riverside in the summer.
In the summer transfer window Middlesbrough were making moves that some people simply could not believe. With the likes of Victor Valdes and Alvaro Negredo making their way to the North East, it was a huge indication of how far the Premier League has come in terms of attracting top names.
But one of the most important players of all to come through the door was Antonio Barragan. The 29-year-old has always been a highly rated defender, but some were showing early signs of worry in regards to how he would adapt to the English game.

Thankfully there was no need for panic, as the Spaniard has really started to show his talents in the early stages of the season. With a strong determination and work ethic, he continues to be a stand out for Boro having also made 38 tackles in the league so far, putting him fourth overall in that category.
Having helped Karanka’s men to three clean sheets in 11 appearances it is evident that things are starting to fall into place, and whilst that may not seem all too impressive it is certainly promising for a promoted side.
Some were surprised that he did not make the move to a more highly rated side, but maybe a club of Middlesbrough’s stature was exactly what he needed in order to slowly work his way into the English game.
