The Barnsley manager was preparing for his team’s weekend clash with Leeds United.

Barnsley manager Paul Heckingbottom has been speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post after watching Leeds United in action against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday evening.
The Tykes boss was running the rule over their next opponents but he admitted that he opted to leave on the hour-mark when Ronaldo Vieira was sent off for the visitors.

By then Leeds were already 2-1 down and they went on to lose the clash 4-1, but while Heckingbottom could have used the chance to see how the Whites cope when down to 10 men, he instead opted for an early night.
“I left after the sending off,” the Barnsley boss is quoted as telling YEP reporter Leon Wobschall. “(I) wasn’t going to learn anything after that.”
That remains to be seen, but it is clear that Leeds need to considerably up their game if they want to defeat Barnsley on Saturday and ensure their latest defeat is a blip rather than a sign of things to come.

Prior to Leeds’ 2-1 victory against Middlesbrough last weekend they were in terrible form, and Wolves did not take it easy on them, delivering an impressive attacking display and piling more pressure on Whites boss Thomas Christiansen.
Heckingbottom clearly thought he had seen enough and will now be plotting Leeds’ downfall, with his own team keen on the three points to pull further clear of the bottom three.
As for Leeds, they will now have to make do without Vieira in a match they dare not lose but may struggle to win.
