Barnsley’s Adam Hammill talks up Leeds United fixture.

Barnsley winger Adam Hammill has told the club’s official website that the club want to ‘show Leeds United who is boss’ this coming weekend.

The 28-year-old’s comments could only serve to backfire, should Leeds boss Garry Monk show them to his team before Saturday’s late kick-off at Oakwell.

Hammill says he is not putting pressure on the team, but his words do exactly what he doesn’t intend them to do.

He said: “We’re not putting pressure on ourselves, we’re just looking forward to what’s going to be an amazing spectacle it’s a great team, Leeds United is a massive name in football but they’re coming onto our territory and it’s time for us to show them who’s boss.”

Leeds enter the game with an air of superiority, currently 10 points above Barnsley in the Championship table.

This has Leeds up into a lofty third position, while Barnsley are in 10th, seven points back from the play-off spots after losing 2-0 to Fulham in their last league game.
