Newcastle and Everton were both linked with Sporting Lisbon’s Carlos Mane in the summer.

German club Fortuna Dusseldorf have reportedly made an offer worth just £5.7million to sign Sporting Lisbon attacker Carlos Mane – and that has to convince Newcastle and Everton to reignite their summer interest in Mane.
It has been a difficult couple of years for the exciting speed machine, after undergoing knee surgery in April 2017. It saw him fail to make a single appearance throughout the 2017-18 campaign.
Just before his injury, 24-year-old Mane had gone on loan to Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart and shone in the top tier of German football, scoring six goals and creating nine more in just 19 league appearances.
But he returned to Sporting with a serious injury. This season, after overcoming the problem, Mane has only managed seven appearances in all competitions – only two of which have come in the league.
The talent is obviously there, but the Portugal Under-21 international needs game time to get back to his best and he certainly is not getting that at Sporting Lisbon. Dusseldorf have tried to take advantage of that, according to Record.
Dusseldorf are in the top division of German football and are on course to avoid relegation, sitting comfortably in 14th place. A £5.7million move would surely prove tempting for Mane, then.

But with his talent certainly worth way more than the touted figure, Newcastle and Everton would be both taking a calculated risk by bidding for Mane and giving him the necessary game time to get back to his best.
TeamTalk claimed in the summer that both Rafa Benitez and Marco Silva wanted Mane, and for such a small figure, they have to reignite their interest in the Sporting attacker.
