The Moroccan international had some serious interest in the winter.
Romain Saiss
It looks increasingly likely that Wolverhampton Wanderers are on the verge of signing midfielder Romain Saiss.
The Express and Star first reported that the Angers midfielder was the latest player the club are keen on signing.
L’Equipe went on to report yesterday that the 26-year-old has agreed a four-year deal to join Wolves, who will pay the French club a fee in the region of £3.4 million for his services, and a deal is now just awaiting ratification.
Saiss is undoubtedly a player who has been picking up quite a reputation recently.
Not only did he reject the chance to talk to Aston Villa in January, but Saiss has also been scouted by European giants Barcelona this year.
Spanish paper Sport reported in January that Barcelona were scouting the player and considering making a move for the player.
It was claimed that Barcelona technical secretary Robert Fernandez was a big fan of the player and felt he could not only play at holding midfield, but at centre-back.
However, it looks as though Wolves are going to get in before anybody else and snap up the Moroccan international this summer.
But the fact Barcelona were so keen on the player should be a testament in itself to the potential of the player to be a hit at Molineux.
