Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing the Barcelona ace.
According to a report from Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have received an offer for Tottenham-linked midfielder Andre Gomes.
The 24-year-old joined Barca form Valencia in the summer of 2016, for a fee that could eventually rise to £46 million, according to BBC Sport, but he has failed to establish himself at the Camp Nou.
Gomes has chalked up just three goals for Barca over the past two seasons, and has played a peripheral role for the Catalan giants.
That isn’t to say that he is not wanted elsewhere, however.
According to the Express, Mauricio Pochettino is a big fan of the Portugal international, and is keen to bring him to Spurs this summer.
Mundo Deportivo are reporting today that Barcelona have received an offer for Gomes.
Could the bid be from Tottenham?
Well, the Lilywhites certainly need to bolster their central midfield options, with Mousa Dembele facing an uncertain future in north London.
Despite Gomes’s recent struggles, he still has a lot to offer at the very highest level, and a move to the Tottenham could be just what he needs to reinvigorate his flagging career.
