
Newcastle United are interested in hiring Barcelona technical secretary Ramon Planes, according to Marca.

Marca have reported that Planes has told Barcelona that he wants to leave now.
The Catalan is working as Barcelona’s technical secretary at the moment.
Planes still has one-and-a-half years left on his current contract at the La Liga club.
However, he wants to leave now and will hold talks with Barcelona over terminating his contract in the coming days.
The report in the Spanish publication has added that Newcastle have already got in touch with him.
Newcastle want Planes to become their new technical secretary.

Good reputation
Planes has a good reputation in the footballing circles.
The 54-year-old previously worked as a technical secretary at Getafe and was at Tottenham Hotspur in 2014-15.
The Catalan was the technical secretary at Espanyol between June 2007 and May 2009 before becoming the sporting director of the Spanish club.
Newcastle recently appointed Eddie Howe as their new manager.
