Barcelona now have Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane ‘within reach’ with a real belief that he wants to make the move to the Camp Nou.
That’s according to Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo, who claim that Barcelona want to land Mane as their big attacking addition this summer.
Barcelona fancied Erling Haaland, but he is heading to Manchester City. Robert Lewandowski has also been heavily linked whilst Mohamed Salah is another target.
Yet now there seems to be real hope that Barcelona can land Mane as their major signings for the summer.
Mane can leave Liverpool for nothing in 2023 and there has been no movement on a new contract.
Mane allegedly wants £300,000-a-week to stay at Liverpool.
This report claims that Mane’s ‘dream’ if he leaves Liverpool is to join a Spanish club and Barcelona is his ‘special preference’.
Mane allegedly believes that he can enhance his own legacy by proving himself away from England, with Spain the preferred move.
Mane’s agents allegedly know that the attacker fancies joining Barcelona and they may be instructed to make a summer deal happen.
The 30-year-old has rejuvenated his Liverpool career this season, particularly shining since Luis Diaz’s arrival.

That has meant that Mane has played as more of a central striker, a role we haven’t seen him play with this kind of regularity.
Mane now has 21 goals in all competitions this season, again proving himself as one of the top players in Europe.
Much of the focus has been on Mohamed Salah’s contract but Mane’s is now becoming of similar importance.
With no sign of a new contract being agreed any time soon – despite Jurgen Klopp branding him a ‘machine’ – Barcelona have hope of signing Mane.
That would see Mane copy Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho by trading Liverpool for Barcelona, and we could see a bid this summer.
