Barcelona fancy signing Hector Bellerin with the right back expected to leave Arsenal before the transfer window slams shut.

If any story has dominated this summer’s transfer window, it’s the never-ending spending of Barcelona.

Despite being loaded with debt, Barcelona continue to make big-money signings like Jules Kounde, Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski.

Add in the free signings of Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie and Barcelona have had quite the summer.

Registering those new signings has been a problem and Kounde still isn’t registered – and yet Barcelona are now eyeing up Bellerin.

Barcelona fancy signing Hector Bellerin

The next target for Barcelona is a new right back, with a host of names linked of late.

SPORT report that Juan Foyth and Thomas Meunier are the top two options for Barcelona right now, but they have identified a Plan B target in Hector Bellerin.

That’s right, SPORT claim that Barcelona are looking to bring Bellerin back to the Camp Nou after many, many years away.

Bellerin was born in Barcelona and came up through the La Masia ranks before leaving to join Arsenal at the age of just 16.

Bellerin became a first-team star with Arsenal, racking up nearly 250 appearances for the club.

However, Bellerin has no role under Mikel Arteta and spent last season on loan at Real Betis.

Barcelona are now viewing Bellerin as a cheap addition at right back, with Betis so far unable to bring him back permanently.

The 27-year-old would surely be interested in an emotional return to Barcelona, and his Arsenal exit surely isn’t too far away.

Bellerin allegedly wants to have the final year of his Arsenal contract ripped up in order to become a free agent, and that would certainly work for Barcelona as they attempt to land another right back without causing any deeper financial issues.
