Everything that could have gone wrong, went wrong for Arsenal in their last two games. The two defeats are detrimental enough to their ambitions but three big injuries increased the pain.

Granit Xhaka and Pablo Mari went off after 25 minutes against Manchester City with the latter said to be out till November. Xhaka has a chance to return before the end of the campaign but it still is a big blow.

Things went from bad to worse against Brighton when Bernd Leno was stretchered off after what looked like a horrific knee injury.

There are fears over Leno’s injury with some outlets claiming that he might well be out for a year. (Goal) Arsenal might have to dip into the transfer market for a new goalkeeper and it looks like they have.

Spanish outlet Sport have claimed that Arsenal have enquired about the possibility of signing Barcelona’s Norberto Neto. The Brazilian only joined Barca last year for £23.3 million (BBC) but he clearly is out of favour.

The report claims that Arsenal enquired about a loan deal with an option to buy him at the end of the term. However, Barcelona are only willing to sell him outright and have put an £18 million price-tag to part ways with him.

It is unclear what Arsenal’s stance is after Barcelona’s response. The Brazilian is an experienced campaigner but he has his flaws, especially when the ball is at his feet.

Arsenal confirmed on their official website that Leno’s injury isn’t as serious as they expected and that the German will be back in training in four to six weeks time.

However, Barcelona fans still took to Twitter to urge Arsenal to sign Neto in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Here’s how a few Barcelona fans reacted to the rumour
