Barcelona supporters were ‘so happy’ for Philippe Coutinho after he scored on his Aston Villa debut on Saturday.

The 29-year-old came off the bench to help Villa come from 2-0 down to record a 2-2 draw against Manchester United.

During these past ten or so days, a lot has been made about Coutinho’s loan move from Barcelona to Villa and his return to the Premier League.

Since leaving Merseyside for Catalonia, the 29-year-old has found life difficult and he decided to don the colours of Claret and Blue in order to inject some life back into his footballing career.

Well, it was some start from the Brazil international because he scored in front of the Holte End to help Villa mount a much-deserved comeback.

Even though Coutinho found life tough at the Nou Camp, many Barca fans were pleased to see his Villa career start off in such a headlining fashion.

If this is a sign to come from the quick-footed playmaker, then Villa supporters are in for a treat, because on his day, he can prove to be one of the best creators in the Premier League.

As an ex-Liverpool player, whilst Coutinho scored against their old rivals yesterday, he will come up against their now-managerless neighbours on Saturday.

Villa will travel to Goodison Park to take on an Everton team that was recently beaten by bottom-of-the-table Norwich City.

That resulted in the Toffees sacking Rafa Benitez and it will be interesting to see how all of that pans out next week.

Until then, Villa supporters are still reveling in quite a debut from Coutinho and what he could provide to this European-chasing side during his five months at the club.
