FC Barcelona director Jordi Cruyff has teased that the La Liga side could move for Mohammed Kudus, with Arsenal and Liverpool reportedly interested in signing the Ghana international.
Speaking to RAC 1, the former Manchester United star revealed that the Ajax youngster is someone Barcelona have been watching for some time, with Kudus establishing himself as one of the breakout talents of the 2022 FIFA World Cup this winter.
Kudus bagged a brace for Ghana in their 3-2 win against South Korea, and since then, transfer interest in the attacking midfielder has exploded, with Ghana SoccerNet reporting that Arsenal and Liverpool are now interested in the 22-year-old, who Ajax value at £30m.
Impressing for both club and country this season, Kudus’ stock is raising at a considerable rate. And with Barcelona now interested in signing the African superstar, Arsenal and Liverpool could face a struggle to bring the Ajax talent to England in the January window.

Indeed, Kudus could be this World Cup’s breakout star and major transfer with the January window just a month away from opening. And according to Barcelona director Cruyff, the Catalan giants could make a move for the Ghanaian star in the coming weeks.
Cruyff said when asked about Barcelona’s interest in Kudus: “We’ve been tracking Mohammed Kudus for more than one year. We can’t say now that Barça want Kudus, but he’s attracting interest. He’s scoring goals and in Holland they discuss a lot about his position, so yes, I know him well.”
Barcelona signing Kudus will be huge blow for Arsenal and Liverpool

Kudus is quickly establishing himself as one of the best players at the World Cup in Qatar and football’s next hot talent. Yet with Barcelona potentially joining the race for the midfielder, Arsenal and Liverpool could be stuck in their attempts to sign the Ghanaian.
After all, few players would choose a Premier League move over Barcelona when the call comes along, and Kudus’ ability and potential make the Ajax star a more than quality signing for the La Liga giants, who could move for the youngster in January.
